The Rebecca Tile

Use an Arduino to display scrolling words on an alphanumeric display

This tile demonstrates the ability to power an arduino and display through a custom connector consisting of pogo pins and magnets. The display reads “MY NAME IS MAYUMI” in a loop when powered.

Materials Needed to Make:

  • 3D Printer

  • Epoxy

  • MAGNET 0.187"D X 0.250"THICK CYL

  • Quad Alphanumeric Display - Red 0.54" Digits w/ I2C Backpack - STEMMA QT / Qwiic

  • STEMMA QT / Qwiic JST SH 4-pin Cable - 100mm Long

  • Solder

  • Wire

  • Perfboard

  • Arduino Metro Mini

  • 4 Position Spring Mating Target Connector Through Hole

  • 4 Position Spring Piston Connector Through Hole
